Like many, my cell phone bill is set up on auto pay. So I received my monthly email letting me know my payment was made, but for $5 more than it typically is. So I logon and review statement side by side... no clear indication of why this happened. After speaking with the company, I learn they doubled the amount of data in my plan, for only $5 more, but indicated they had told me it would be happening.
Naturally my next question is wouldn’t I have to approve such a thing? The answer I got was shocking. Because $5 was such a deal for what I was getting (compared to plans they offer new customers) my written consent wasn’t necessary.
They were “kind” enough to set my plan back to the former data limit and fee.
Just a reminder to check in on those bills when you set to autopay.
