Hi,
I'm 22 years old working full time on a salary of $62,400.
I have been living paycheck to paycheck for the past couple of years. I've been in overdraft for at least the past 6 months. At one point I managed to save up to $5k... but I'm honestly not sure how. Two of my good friends are the same age as me and both have $15k+ savings. I'm embarrassed that my entire account is in negative. I want to make a change.
I've just signed up to an app called Pocketsmith to try and keep track of my finances. I put in all of my budgets and my income and it said I was losing $100/week, which is worrying. I redid my budgets to try and be stricter but it predicts I'll still just barely scrape through and I'm not sure where I can cut back more.
I have a few debt payments:
- Car @ $200/month (negotiable, paying to my parents who lent me cash)
- Bed @ $40/month
- Phone @ $210/month (I regret this but it's too late, only 4 months of payments left)
Here's a screenshot of my budgets out of the app: http://puu.sh/B8qN4.png
Any & all advice greatly appreciated.
Thank you!!
