24/M Been living with gf for about a year in a large-ish city but we recently split up and I had to move back with my parents 1 hrs 45 mins away. Now my daily commute is a total of 3 hours and 30 minutes. I live in EU in a country that has cheap and fairly reliable public transport. The monthly pass costs $25.
I found a room available 10 minutes away from work that would cost 20-25% of my monthly salary.
I already live frugally and I could afford to lose that much money for the sake of saving on commuting time but I'm not sure if worth it. As for my current budget, I spend 40% of my monthly income and put the remainder 60% to savings. If I were to move I could only save 35-40% compared to 60%. I also get on well with my parents and they told me they would not accept any payment from me for living with them.
What do I do?
