So I just moved out about 8 months ago as my dad was slightly abusive and I had a really good job as a receptionist at a salon for 6 months but they shut down two days ago and gave everyone about two weeks notice which wasn't enough time for me to find a job that paid more than minimum wage.
I don't know what to do because I was offered a position that starts at minimum wage but after 3 months will raise me to about 15 an hour. (Minimum wage here being $12.65) I do not believe this will be enough for me living alone with a rent of $850 while being a student and I'm just so lost.
I have been applying to jobs left and right all day everyday but no one has called me back and I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I have updated my resume and have applied online at places like indeed and Monster.
TLDR: 19, no job and have rent of $850 due on the first.
EDIT: THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH! This advice is really great and I'm definitely using it all.
EDIT 2: I followed the advice and called back all those jobs I thought I had no chance in getting and have an interview for a supervisor position tomorrow! And I started the min wage job just in case I don't get it! Thanks again
