She wanted to get a new social security card but didn't know how. After I found out I immediately told her the risks and potential fallout her credit and our dad's finances could suffer but other than call them tomorrow for a refund I'm not sure what other steps we should take. Should we consider a credit freeze? We will be calling the bank as well to block the charge (assuming we won't have to cancel the card entirely).
