I need serious hands on deck :( We just got hit hard. I am pregnant - due in 2 months. We have two cars but the second is a lease, returning it in a week. We were going to save money by becoming a one car household with the second car (still being financed). We got in a bad car accident - looks like total damage - in the financed car. It still has over $10K to be paid off. I had purchased GAP insurance for it but lo and behold, I realized my husband somehow removed Comprehensive & Collision coverage on our car insurance :( so now I have no idea what’s going to happen or if anything’s covered... or if we’re about to be without ANY cars and still paying a $10K debt for nothing. They’re saying it’s my husbands fault who was driving (rear ended two cars in front at a red light) but the brakes suck. The car we were driving, we have records (two times.. one in 2016, one the DAY of the accident) showing we had complained to Toyota maintenance about the brakes being kind of weird when we hit bumps, etc. and not functioning properly. The maintenance people made notes of it but did nothing to repair it and said it’s “normal”. We’ve googled it and found other random people posting about this issue.

Is it possible we can get a lawyer and sue Toyota Corp (even though we have no money to hire one and this is too much for me right now...)? I have no idea what to do. I’m so stuck. :( I was at the hospital overnight doing stress tests and my only concern is baby... but now that we’re home I’m freaking out about this.
