Hi there! So my friend is supposed to be attending university in the fall (in Ontario, he is from out of province). He was just informed by his mother that she will not be helping him pay for it. The problem is student loans are only giving him $5000 because his mom makes too much, but she is going through a divorce and is paying way too much for a house that she can't afford so she is in no place to help pay for university. Is there anything he can do? I've mentioned a student line of credit and talking to the school's financial aid office but other than that, there isn't much I can think about with only 20 days until he's set to move in.
