That's my beginning goal, but I've put away $123 towards it, and it feels painful but satisfying.
I've been unemployed for like seven months now and before that I treated my paychecks like excuses to splurge.
My goal is $1000 because it feels symbolic. For a long time in my life poverty has been a huge issue--I'd love to have some saved for textbooks, or a trip home, or for a random emergency.
I'm gonna stop eating out and buying things over the internet especially.
Thanks for the tips, the FAQs, the wikis, and the threads of success stories. You guys really made me think about a comfortable future and how it's possible with some work.
