I'm building furnitures for several clients living in homes with walls lined with dot and dab plasterboards. There is a very small cavity behind the plasterboard of maybe about 10-15mm before the breeze blocks. Some furniture, like wardrobes are required to be fixed onto the wall to prevent it from tipping forward. A traditional rawl plug and screw doesn't go in all the way to provide enough grip unless I use a very big one and a massive screw which is not only costly but a big hole in concrete is difficult to drill with a normal cordless drill.Could I get away with using a worm drive plasterboard fitting which comes in nylon and metal? I'm worried that they don't resist pulling very well and. I have also thought of using Gripit fixings, which is a bit more expensive but again, I don't know how well they resist pull out although they are really good against sheer forces.Any ideas? via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2OsEC52
