Hey all, I had a toilet that wasn't shutting off. I tried to bend the rod that held the floater a little more so it would be down in the water further, but it broke. That meant putting in a new flushing mechanism. This was something I had done before without too much trouble, so I went ahead and bought a kit and replaced it. I did leave the old flapper in place, though, and I'm wondering if maybe that was a mistake. Now, the toilet flushes with a lot less power for one, and when it fills back up, the water inside the bowl fills *very* slowly before stopping about an inch from the old waterline. Then there is another rush of water from inside the bowl and it fills the rest of the way. Any ideas why this is happening this way? Thanks in advance! via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2v98ACj
