Good day all,I'm in the process of converting an old saxophone case to a boom box to take to the beach, bonfire, BBQ, whatever, and need some guidance on sealing for longevity.I've removed the vinyl fabric cover and used acetone to strip the adhesive. Pulled the old latches and hinges, but left the carrying handle and edge protection. Need to add wood filler in a few spots and sand accordingly.I've got clear exterior poly and 1-part epoxy garage floor paint and am curious which direction to go. I've read that poly is best for sealing wood, but also that epoxy will do just as good a job.My thought was to put a layer of poly to seal, 2 coats epoxy for color, one more poly to prevent chalking. The big concern is yellowing of the poly since it will see a moderate amount of sun. Am I headed in the right direction or overcomplicating things? Thanks.Poly: https://ift.tt/2NCMRu3 epoxy: https://ift.tt/2OdJP0d via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2LyNYgQ
