is it more efficient to save money or make more money?
simple example: I can spend 60 minutes a week mowing my lawn, or hire a teenager 20 bucks a week to mow it and use those 60 minutes to find a side job making more than 20 bucks an hour.
more complex example: the X hours I Spend a week doing DIY tasks over 3-5 years to save 10,000 dollars could be used to invest X hours into my career or creating another side job, netting a salary increase that is greater than the amount saved from DIY tasks.
