Hello, I can't sleep at night.
I left a job some months ago and last week they handed me my last paycheck paying me for the days they hadn't paid me for. The check had the amount of 1 385,391.
Two days after taking the check to my bank, I go to check if I got my money. I was surprised to discover that I had become a millionaire, and just thought it was a bug in the system.
After double-checking my check deposit receipt, I just noticed that the bank operator forgot the comma, and so instead of 1 385,391 , he credited 1 385 391,00.
The company I used to work for is a notable industrial group in my country. Nor very appreciated either. It doesn't treat its employees very well. If it gets known that I took advantage of a banking mistake to "take advantage" of them, I'll probably be considered as some sort of Robin Hood.
What should I do? My morals are asking to go back to the bank and tell them there was a mistake, and some inner part of me is saying "Oh what the hell just leave it there and don't touch it."
