I am bedridden and can only lie on my side, either left or right, and I have profound weakness in my arms. This makes it very difficult to hold and read books.Since we can't find any sideway book holder to buy, a family member promised to build me one that will hold a book in this position (without needing a pillow to prop it on, though). However, neither of us is a DIY expert so any tips and ideas would be helpful. The biggest issue is that books come in vastly different sizes and thicknesses. We had an idea to make a holder that would clip the book and hang it down from one of its sides, but it would need to be as tall as the widest book is wide, and then smaller books would just dangle near the top, and it would need a very strong clip that can hold the whole weight of the book in air, which might damage the book.It seems better to build something where the book is resting on its side (like in the picture I linked) and some clips or elastic bands are holding it straight up and open. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2v6sBcs
