I have googled to no end on this one and can’t find exactly why I’m looking for. I’ve also checked this sub and can’t find anything like this. Here’s what I have— Finishing my basement and I’m doing the framing myself. I have experience doing basic framing, but usually I have someone telling me what to do. The basement is set up for a wetbar in the living area. On the back side of this wall is a bedroom. The drainpipe runs down the middle of where this wall will go, with a flair at the bottom going sort of toward where the wetbar will go. My questions are:Do I frame around this and not drywall that bottom part since it will be hidden by a cabinet/sink anyway to leave access open to that drain?I assume the framing should encompass the top part of the drainpipe and the bottom plate butts up against the back side of the flared portion of the pipe? If so, so I not have a top plate for the wall at the part where the drain pipe is? Or do I basically build two separate walls on either side of the pipe since my top plate can’t go through the top of the drain?Any diagrams or other resources you can point me to are appreciated. I can provide a couple pics if that would help. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2JMK2nE
