This time last year I checked my credit rating, and I felt emotionally sick. I didn’t know what to do, and I wanted to cry.
I had almost a maxed credit card, (with only a £500 limit) and an APR of 39.9%. I had no hope of being able to crawl myself out of there and I just knew I had to do something about it.
I was a bit sceptical of paying a monthly fee to a credit agency to for me to keep up to date with my finances and credit accounts, but it was the best thing in my life.
In one whole year, exactly to this date, I have managed to turn my life around (bare in mind I earn the EXACT SAME as I did last year) and I feel financially stable, I am mentally happy and I am hopeful for the future again.
After a long time working on it, I managed to get myself to a point where I could apply for an actual Credit Card. So now, I have a £2700 limit, 0% on Purchases/Balance Transfers/Cash Transfers for 28 months and had the absolute joy of cutting that old card and closing that account.
I just wanted to share with you that for anyone who is worried, you CAN do something about it. You absolutely CAN. It will take time, but boy it will be worth it.
