I tried to apply for, and got declined for, 3 different credit cards. I'm 18 and have never taken out any loans or had anything other than a debit card. I thought I should check my credit history to see why I might be getting denied. Several sights couldn't confirm I was me with the information provided, and Creidit Karma, for a security measure asked me to tell them what financial institution and the monthly cost of a car loan taken out in 2013 and a home loan taken out in 2016. Neither of which where me of coarse, so I said none of the above for all questions. The website told me that was incorrect.
My mom started using drugs in 2009, and only recently got clean. She thousands of dollars in debt, and has no credit herself. As my mother she has access to all my information, and I've seen several stories of parents stealing their kids identity.
Where do I go from here? I still haven't been able to get a full credit report.
Do I confront my mom? What if she says (either truthfully or lying) it wasn't her?
What do I do to fix it?
Any and all advice is much appreciated.
Thank you
