I recently got hired on at a local landscaping company. My hours usually are from 50-65 hours a week. The 40 hours is all logged and taxed properly. But my pay stub only shows the 40 hours on it and the pay/taxes withheld. The overtime hours is paid at my normal pay rate but in cash later in the week.

From what I understand this is illegal and could possibly fall back on me. What should I do to protect myself from any sort of issues with taxes and also is there anything I can do to report this?

I feel like the reason it doesn’t get talked about is because no one that works there is educated greatly, most do not even speak Speak fluent English. And I feel like the boss knowingly takes advantage that his employees are none the wiser about him making them commit tax fraud.
