DIY, I got a bit of a puzzle.I run my wired shed off standard orange cord. The shed has a couple of 15 amp outlets and a light with a switch. I decided to upgrade and bought one of these heavier Amazon cords because I'm planning on plugging power tools/saws into the shed outlet. So I replaced the old orange cord with the new yellow cord. When nothing in the shed was on, I could see that the new cord was hot (it has the LED lighted socket). But as soon as I turn on ANYTHING in the shed -- the light, a tool of any kind, or even a laptop plug -- the GFCI outlet at the house gets tripped.I replaced the new Amazon cord with the old, lower gauge orange cord and I can turn on everyone at once without the GFCI on the other end of the cord being tripped. But when I swap in the new heavy gauge Amazon cord, pop goes the GFCI outlet. I tried another GFCI outlet at the house, same story, so it's likely NOT a faulty GFCI house outlet. It's also likely not the new cord; I bought two of them and the second one works fine, but does trip when plugged into the shed. What's happening here? Thanks. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2v6Fovw
