Not sure if this is the right sub for advice but figured I would crosspost here as well.
When I was 17 I got into a really bad car accident that took down a telephone pole in my small town. There was no alcohol or anything illegal and all I got was a strike on my record. I was not insured on the car I was driving but I thought I had already paid the bills for the insurance company. Today I got a bill for $76,000 addressed to me from my hometowns gas and electric company. There is no way I can afford that, my parents are not in the picture and I was emancipated at 16. I am putting myself through college and can barely afford that and my current car insurance. What exactly do I do?
