So one of my bigger issues I've recognized is that I have an addition to sales. But more or less an addiction to getting something for it's 'best value'.
I find X product I want. Then I try to find alternatives to said product and those suck. So I either wait for X product to go on sale or buy the cheaper product. The issue is that I forget that a product could be worth the price regardless of what I wanted to pay. Consumerism (in America at least) has gotten us addicted to the best value.
I was working at a retailer when a lady came in for a particular Nike shirt. I tried to offer her discounts but she did not care. It was a fascinating concept because I was so used to people wanting as many discounts as possible. Perhaps I have trained my brain to like the ''I saved this much'' rather than getting what I'd really like.
