Hello everyone. Long time lurker here until a few days ago. I like reading posts here and on minimalism sub as well as I myself is a big fan of minimalism and trying my very best to live a simple life. I have a dilemma and I would like to ask your opinions on this one.
I live in London and live in a flat-share.I pay £498 a month for this room (roughly 3 x 4.5 meters). I earn very little and this is already too expensive for me. I used to live in an even tinier room which I paid £85 a week but I moved out since then as it was becoming too much for me. Could't move much etc.
Now, a new room is available in the same house where I live but it is slightly more expensive - £520 a month! But the room is almost one a half more spacious than my current room. And the best thing is its got more privacy. My current room is adjacent to another room and the plywood partition is so thin that I could hear almost every sound my flatmate makes. When he brings women, they have loud sex for days on end. And it bothers me a lot. I am a shy person and I couldn't bring myself to ask my flatmate to turn down the noise whenever he has visitor. My other flatmates confronted him many times already and he would stop for a few days but do it again. Now it's ok but I know it's just a matter of time before he does it again.
Should I move to the other room and pay £22 more per month for mor space and privacy?? I know it will make a visible dent on my monthly budget but it is tempting. It will give me more peace of mind. But I feel like it's living beyond my means :(
Help me decide please..
Thank you!
