I have a work meeting on Tuesday (which according to my friend who I replaced has never happened before), an I did a little research about it and found that the FLSA requires non-salaried employees to be paid for the time they spend at these meetings. I learned about this at my previous job at a bar that was a few years ago. I only work a few hours a week because of school but it’s scheduled right after I spend 9 hours on campus. If I request payment for this with the owners would that be taken badly?
The owners are essentially our managers. And I barely make $60 every two weeks.
