What I'm looking for:
- one checking account as my primary (Discover has a 1% cash back card)
- one checking account for auto-withdrawn bills (will be at $0 most of the time)
- one savings account as my primary
- one savings account as my emergency fund (at a different bank, just in case)
- a credit card (QuicksilverOne being my best bet)
- the ability to send money to family like I could through Chase Quick Pay with Zelle
The problem is that I don't know what's a wire transfer and what's not. I'm 99% certain that sending money from a Discover checking to a Discover savings isn't a wire transfer. However, if I wanted both checking and the primary savings account with Discover, but the emergency fund elsewhere (in case there was an issue with Discover), would sending money from Discover to Synchrony be considered a wire transfer?
I'd also like to drop Chase, but have no idea how I would send/receive money to/from family for free without it. Do I just create a standalone Zelle account and connect it to my Discover account?
Just overthinking things yet again (stupid anxiety...). Any assistance would be highly appreciated.
