I arrived on Friday at 3. Took a taxi to my apartment. Met my landlord and unpacked my bags. The apartment is up on a hill overlooking Thatch Cay and the British Virgin Islands. It's heavenly.

The gentleman I'm taking over for was kind enough to pick me up and take me for a burger and a couple beers. After that we headed to my new work space and I got the general run down of things. Then back home to sleep like a baby.

Saturday I woke up and decided to find a beach. I found my way down the hill and to the safari route. I jumped on and decided to ride the entire route. Worth checking it out while I had the time.

I hopped off on my second lap at Smith Bay. Walking to the beach I didn't know what to expect. I found a mostly deserted beach with a couple of locals. The swimming was spectacular, but not much to see with a snorkel.

I walked to Sapphire beach and snuck in through a condo. No one noticed and everyone was very friendly. The snorkeling was amazing. Parrot fish, brain coral, Sergent majors. I cooled off and started to get hungry so it was time to walk to redhook.

The walks here aren't bad, you just have to remember that they drive on the left and to try to hug the shoulder. Getting to redhook was a relief. A burger and a couple beers, a short safari ride, a walk up a hill and I'll be home. I devoured my food, made my way home and collapsed in bed.

This morning I awoke to the sun creeping through my window. I decided to have a cigarette and see what time it was. It was 615 and the sun was rising over Tortola. I was in awe. I fell back asleep until almost noon.

Today I wanted to see Coki beach, do some snorkeling, find some herb, and buy some essentials. I did it all. I lugged 40lbs of groceries up the hill home and I've never felt so proud. As I listen to the waves all I can think about is how this is the best decision I've ever made.

Do what you love. Fuck everything else.
