edit: i will continually edit this as i think of more things. i tend to focus on stuff i use more than 3x a week, stuff that really has made my life easier or better in some way. things i can think of so far:
-for under kitchen cabinets, in dark office areas, and inside closet - one $20 10' string of bright LED lights, the plug in kind, NOT battery powered. One 10' strip is enough to cover all the area I need and makes a HUGE difference in brightning up my apartment. I tried the battery power and NOPE. Batteries die too fast and i learned i am too lazy to charge them. It is insane how bright lights affect my mood, and make a place look nicer, imo. So one strip is enough for my closet, another strip is enough for my entire kitchen cabinet area, etc.
-swiss pull chop. basically it chops things into tiny pieces, the more you pull on the lever, the tinier it chops things. it's manual, you don't plug it in, easy to clean and i use it every day for garlic, tomatoes, lettuce, chicken, so much.... -10' phone charger cable - so i can constantly charge my iphone 6+ (which has crap battery life even after getting the new battery), while using the phone
-alexa coupled with smart plugs - i can play so much music on alexa, and also have my lights scheduled to automatically go on and off every day
-jbl wireless waterproof speaker - it is cheap, portable and powerful and i can play good music anywhere, in kitchen while i cook, etc
-magnets to put on back of tablet and phone, so i can put it on my fridge or any magnetic strip and videochat or watch youtube while i do dishes
-using youtube as an educational tool
-using some youtube videos as ambient music or sounds to help me focus when i'm reading (fireplace with thunder sounds, space sounds, rainforest sounds, etc)
-a silicone ice cube maker that makes 2" square ice cubes that melt slowly
-a cold brew ice coffee maker (less acid)
-the chuckit ball launcher for the pup we watch
-parchment paper to cook meat on the george foreman grill really cuts down on cleaning time
-la's totally awesome cleaner from the dollar tree cleans the oven fast as hell (ok that i don't use 3x a week, but whatever)
-silicone bookmarks with the pointed fingers on them, so you can pick up on the word you left off on the last time you stopped reading
-bluedio wireless headphones - they are quite big, they really cushion your ear, and i don't get tangled up in wires when i'm walking down the street or on the subway - i am sure there are other great brands besides bluedio though, but im surprised at how much i like them
-wrist holder for my iphone, so i can walk around without having to dig in my purse for my phone/every time i want to change songs....
-a shallow bowl with a wide lip from the dollar store - my cat will eat from without making a mess
-automatic cat food feeder (it's on a timer), so my cat doesn't wake me up at 5 am anymore
i'm just fishing for ideas for life enhancers that don't cost a ton...
