Ive been doing r/keto for about 9 months, where you limit your daily carb intake.
The biggest challenge for me was a low carb lunch that I can take to work, without having to cook, or being too expensive.

This nutty lunch, that takes 1 min to prepare, costs barely over $1/meal, & everyday you can make a different mix so you get variety from day to day.

It keeps me satiated for 4-5 hours and I can save a lunch break (munch @ my desk) if I want and go home earlier.
Bonus: After 6months my blood cholesterol showed the highest HDL ever, in the very good range. I can attribute this to this cheap lunch!

The nuts I have are a mix of 3 chosen daily: (quoted prices either Trader Joe's or Costco)

  1. Pick one "cheap base": 25c-33c.
    Peanuts 56g/2oz/0.5cup (33c @ $2.70/lb)
    Sunflower seeds 56g/2oz/0.5cup (25c @ $1.99/lb).

  2. Pick one "medium price item": 25c
    Walnuts 28g/1oz/0.25cup (25c @ $4/lb)
    Almonds 28g/1oz/0.25cup (25c @ $4/lb)

  3. Pick one "premium priced item": 50-62c.
    Hazelnuts 28g/1oz/0.25cup (50c @ $8/lb)
    Pecans 28g/1oz/0.25cup (50c @ $8/1lb)
    Macadamia 28g/1oz/0.25cup (62c @ $10/lb).

I just use a digital scale to weigh this out in the morning.
Literally takes 1min to prepare.

Total 120g of nuts for about 600-800 calories.
This is roughly half my caloric goal a day, low on carbs,
and I've lost 16lbs in two months this way.
