For me, I am not frugal with electronics. Most electronics you use everyday and the rule I have been taught is that if you are going to use something frequently and everyday then don't be frugal about it (but still find the best deal). I don't buy electronics used because I have had much experience with them crapping out earlier.
The one exception to the rule is cars. Buying a brand new car is equivalent to getting a bucket of money and right when you drive your brand new car out of the dealership, you throw the bucket with the money out of the window. Brand new cars depreciate by a few thousand once you take it out of the dealership.
