It’s become evident to me that history is about to repeat itself in Argentina and they will default on their debt once again. My reasoning is that despite best intentions the economy is already too far gone for the government to do anything about it. The population is converting any pesos they have into US dollars as soon as they can despite restrictions. The official exchange rate is different from the street rate implying a higher expected inflation. The currency is basically funny money. The IMF has come into the picture which is the nail in the coffin for Argentina.
I would like to bet against the peso but could not find an exchange that allowed this. I’m asking the community here if they have any ideas for an individual investor to profit from the upcoming default.
