[Throwaway account here] Over the last five or so years, I feel like I've gone from being budget conscious, to frugal, to an absolute miser. I've realized that I'm pinching every penny I have and don't spend money at all unless absolutely necessary.

My lifestyle I would say is pretty is pretty comfortable, low debt, good paying job, and savings in the bank/investments, but even the thought of spending money on a coffee fills me with dread because I always think that money could be better spent elsewhere. Where that is I'm not entirely sure. I haven't bought myself anything (even new underwear) in what feels like years, focusing on only buying the absolute necessities.

How do I get out of this mindset of just wanting to hoard money and not constantly thinking that I'm somehow robbing my future self?
