I'll try to keep this as short as possible...
So basically, YEARS ago, back in around 2000 or 2001 I would say, I had an etrade account. I was 19 years old and had really no idea what I was doing, but I purchased 50 shares of Priceline.com stock. The price was right around $2.50 per share. I left it alone and forgot about it for years. Only now to realize that $2.50 share stock is now valued at over $2,000 per share, plus no telling how many times it may have split over the years doubling or quadrupling (possibly) the amount of shares I would have. So my initial investment of $125 would be valued now at at least $100,000.
Upon trying to look into my etrade account and sell my stocks, I found out that they sold my stocks to pay for "inactivity" fees and subsequently closed my account. When I called them to ask about this further, they told me there are no inactivity fees and they wouldn't have closed the account if the account was holding stocks. It doesn't make any sense, right?
Is there anything that can be done?
