Sorry in advance, I'm on mobile.
I'm going to try and make this simple and short. I have been working for the same company for a little over four years, we had twelve stores. Two years ago it was bought and merged with another company that owned twenty-four stores. I was the warehouse manager for a particular department(large warehouse with multiple types of products.) After the merger, the manager of the other departments quit and I took on his responsibilities.
Unfortunately for me, even after taking on an additional twenty-four stores and absorbing another managers section I received no additional compensation. Taking on these additional duties requires me to work a minimum of ten hours a day, only taking Sunday off. I average sixty-five hours a week just to keep the flow going.
I spoke to my boss about a raise since I'm taking care of so many more things now, but he has the idea that because I get so many hours of overtime that it's "hard" to give me a raise. While it's easy to just say that's not how it should work, I need a better way to convey that to my boss. Before the previous owner sold, we were also offered an alright retirement plan that matched us for an alright amount. The new owners got rid of this, so in a way after taking on more work and responsibility, I'm technically bringing home less.
What's the right way to get my point across?
