I've always had a bad relationship with my laundry. It would pile up and then I'd have to spend the whole day doing loads. Putting them away was my least favorite thing to do. I hated every aspect of it. So, a few months ago, I had a weird idea - what if I just washed my clothes in the shower? A washing machine is basically just a big bin that moves clothes and soap around, and clothes will dry on their own if you just lay them out. So, I invested in a cheap little plastic bin from Walmart (maybe twice the size of a shoe box), put some laundry soap in an old dish soap bottle to keep in the shower, and now every time I take a shower I throw a few items in the plastic bin, squirt some soap on it, and let it fill up with water from the tap as I adjust the temperature. When I'm in the shower, I stomp on the clothes a bit, then dump out the water and let it refill a couple times to rinse (a few more stomps to make sure all the soap is gone). When I'm done cleaning off, I squeeze out the clothes and hang them on the drying rack in the shower. They dry in about a day - you don't even need to wring them out or anything, just a light squeeze works.
It's really revolutionized my whole relationship with clothing. It's so easy and now my clothes are always clean when I want to wear them. I'm going to pare down my wardrobe a bunch, since I won't need to compensate for laundry avoidance anymore.
Anyway, just wondering if anyone else does this? I'm surprised it isn't more common, but maybe I'm just weird. I take long showers anyway, so this just gives me an extra excuse to play around in the water in the morning, lol.
