Hi!
So me and my girlfriend is going to visit the US for the first time this fall :).
We heard from some friends that Santa Monica is probably the most fun place to live close to. The problem is that Santa Monica hotels are crazy expensive and pretty old and worn out.
Should I use hotels .com and websites like that to find hotel deals? Or are there any better websites this subreddit knows about :)?
So I could need some help here obviously, most hotels are like 200 dollars per night with pretty good living standard. Should I wait and book later this summer maybe? Does anyone know if it's going to be cheaper booking closer to the departure date or not?
Any frugal tips on living for great value in LA? I'm worried about the distance if I choose a hotel way off.
Also: Is it going to be quite expensive living in i.e. Calabasas or near LAX if we are going to have to commute to the beach everyday? What are your recommendations on living frugal but still nice value in LA?
Best regards!
