I'm trying to attach a 2x4 to wall studs using GRK R4 structural screws. They don't seem to be very good at pulling the lumber flush to the wall (maybe because the thread doesn't go all the way up the shaft or because of their self-tapping?) and if I try to overscrew them the heads just cut into the lumber.
