Quick cross section drawing of room and roofHey all,I’ve been a part of a handful of home renovation, however this is my first attempt at leading one. Anyways, my house is technically 1 1/2 storeys so I’m renovating one of two rooms in the 1/2 storey upstairs. I’ve torn down all the old walls and I’m getting ready to begin insulating. The old walls and ceiling were composed of a cork type material, where NO insulation was placed behind it.Quick note about the house, there are 2 gable vents that have been there since the house was bought. There are 4 box vents that were installed about a decade ago when we redid the roof.In my drawing, I’m turning the empty spaces on either side of the room into insulated storage nooks (each wit an accessible door from inside the room).“X” marks where I plan to insulate. My questions now are, should I used baffles along the angled parts of the roof to allow airflow to reach the vents? And will this correctly ventilate the roof?Any other advice will help. I will link more pictures of the actual room tomorrow and am willing to answer questions to help clarify the situation. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2JyPLyA
