Removing old deck and putting in a new one. The old one has concrete piers that are in the wrong places for the new deck I’m installing so my questions are as follows;I’m on the east coast of Canada; should my piers be 48” deep or can I get away with 36”.Can I leave the old piers in the ground and put in new ones close to them? Is there a minimum distance that the new ones would need to be away from them?I’m not afraid of using an auger or installing the piers myself, but is this a job I should have professionally done?
