Hi there, I could use some help/advice regarding disassembling an electric motor.About three years ago I bought an air bed with an built-in electric motor. In December it simply stopped working, just making weird noises so I unplugged it and put it away.Today I got some free time and decided to open it up and it turns out the fan somehow merged with the plastic housing. Upon further investigation, the backplate behind the fan got loose (the screws are not in place properly) and that caused the fan to hit into the backplate until too high temperatures melted some of the material and merged both of them together.I managed to free up the fan and the motor still works fine. What I need to do now is to mount the backplate properly. Problem is: I can't seem to remove the fan, which needs to be done in order to tighten the screws inbetween. The metal bolt you can see in the center of the fan goes all the way through. From my understanding I need to push it out to remove the fan and access the screws, but I'm not sure if that's really the way to do it?Any suggestions? via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2q6JVMb
