Hello PF, I apologize for the wall of text.

So, I bought a truck (2014 Ram 1500) in February of last year. Since I have bought it, I have had nothing but issues with the truck. First, the day after I drove it off of the lot, I went to get it inspected and the Ebrake was broken. Took it back to the dealer I purchased it from and they “fixed” it. Next, the drivers side door had an issue where it would register that it was open/closed. Brought it back to the dealer, they fixed that. About two weeks after that, I noticed that the air conditioning didn’t work. Brought it in once again, they said it my fault and I could have hit a stick or something to put two huge holes in the condenser. I fought tooth and nail and they eventually agreed to replace the condenser for a 100 dollar decidable in accordance to the lemon law in MA. Fast forward two months after that, the air conditioning once again, doesn’t work. This time I bring it to another dealer and they cover it under warranty, even though it was the previous dealerships negligence.

Since then, I haven’t had any issues with the truck, until this previous weekend. Driving on a main highway when I hear a loud grinding which turned into sounding like something had fallen out from under the truck. I got out and looked under the truck to make sure nothing had, and continued on my way to the nearest shop. Luckily I was able to have someone look at it.

Upon inspection, I was informed that the ebrake had no pad on it, and the line snapped, throwing parts into my rotor. Breaking the ring around the rotor, the rotor itself, and obviously the ebrake. They informed me that it was likely negligence, as there was no padding on the ebrake, and the line was likely not tightened correctly. Luckily they didn’t charge me for the diagnostics (I tipped them well) and they gave me a write up which indicated I would need a new ebrake, rotor, and rear axel.

I immediately called the dealership I purchased it from and talked to the manager. He had me email him the summary of the damages and the causes and he is currently reviewing them and I should hear back from him soon.

My question is, what would you guys suggest I do? Am I just screwed? Are there legal routes I can take? At this point I’m ready to just cut my losses and get rid of the truck, and get a new vehicle, as I see this truck costing me a lot of money in the future.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
