I'm 28F, married, planning to have a child in the future (in the next year or two). We're not drowning in debt, but we do have a little bit. We own our house and have 2 working cars.
I currently work at a job 40 mins from my house. A horrible drive in the winter. The job itself is okay, but can be stressful and my boss is a dick. I was recently offered a promotion within the company, which means slightly more money - but more shifts, staying late, working more weekends, putting up with more BS.
I was also offered a part time job 5 minutes from my house. I could walk there. It's doing something that I LOVE, but the pay is crap and the hours are crap. I wouldn't be struggling to pay bills but I wouldn't have a lot of extra money. I worry how this would affect my maternity pay somewhere down the line.
How do you know what is the right decision? Is it stupid to be thinking about maternity pay when I'm not even pregnant? I'm scared to make the wrong choice and getting screwed over.
(I'm sorry if this is the wrong sub!)
