Title basically explains it all. I MUST leave, I am verbally and physically abused at home and it's absolute nonsense.
I do not "own" a car, I have one which i've been using to get to work but it's legally owned by my parents and insured by them as well, so if I took that, they would take it back.
I have steady income (Walmart), which guarantees me atleast 16 hours a week and $11 an hour with room for advancement (pretty easy to move up there). Cost of living here is remarkably low, as I can rent an apartment for about $417.
My main problem is transportation; my work will be about a mile or less from where I live, the car would run me $2100 down after taxes, insurance, and registration fees, which I can pay but would not leave me with much, and $538 a month after insurance. My premiums are high as hell because i'm 18.
I haven't even started my job at Walmart yet, because Walmart REQUIRES that I work on Sundays and my parents are crazy religious who will beat the shit out of me if I don't go to church (even if i'm working) to BOTH services on Sunday. As soon as they find out about my job, i'm screwed.
What should I do about transportation? Forget the car and just bike? Buy a used beater car with cash?
What should I budget every month?
My monthly income is about $1232 every month before taxes.
Please help.
