I've read many posts of people wanting to get rid of their smartphones for whom not having a decent way to use Whatsapp is a dealbreaker. I've tried many different setups for using Whatsapp computer-only, but I've finally found one that I'm really satisfied with and that I've stuck with for months. Hope it will be useful for some of you too!
- Get Nox App Player instead of Bluestacks. (For two reasons: it runs lighter and it allows use of camera) and install Whatsapp.
- Install the Whatsapp Desktop client
- Open Desktop Client and Nox side by side and use an external monitor, external webcam or even a mirror to scan the QR code with your webcam.
- That's it! You can now simply leave Nox running in the background and get the full Whatsapp Desktop experience.
I just open this setup once every other day to check and reply to messages, but you can use it anyway you like. I've found Nox to be lightweight enough to keep running in the background if desired. Also, you can make it run even lighter by setting a lower resolution, etc.
