Hi! Lurker on pf for awhile now, and I finally graduated university and moved back home. Just landed my first job (71,500/yr), super excited, but now comes to the issue of rent. My parents wanted me to help the household by paying rent, and I totally agree with that. It's just that I'm not sure if the amount they're suggesting is too much. They suggested $500 a month; and this I guess in comparison of finding an apartment in Austin is around the same price. But this would also include them covering internet, family car insurance, family phone plan. Should I try to negotiate lower? Or is this a pretty fair amount? Just wanted some unbiased advice, thanks!
