My health care company is GEHA. I currently have their HDHP with the HSA option. My employer doesn't contribute to my HSA, but GEHA takes a portion of my payment to them and places it in my HSA. Does this count as a contribution for tax purposes? My employer didn't contribution anything, and I didn't contribute anything myself (though the money GEHA uses is from me, so I guess you could say I did kind of contribute the money), but GEHA did contribute something (part of the money I gave to them).

I've seen mentioned of people's employers contributing, but never their health care company. What would these contributions be classified as?
