My wife and I finally thought we had some breathing room financially. I already had a full time job working Monday-Wednesday 13 hours each day. I found work for every Thursday and Friday. My wife works 40 hours a week. We don't have kids, we have a reasonable rent and try our best to not spend frivolously. We have a debt consolidation payment and do not use credit cards at all. Just yesterday we found out that because of my new additional income we no longer qualify for the health insurance subsidy we used to receive. That wouldn't be a problem if the plan also hadn't increased a ton. Our health insurance premium is going to DOUBLE every month starting in 2018 and we don't know what to do. We looked into starting a retirement account but even with the pre-tax deduction, we no longer qualify for a subsidy. This seems like highway robbery on the part if the insurance companies. We cant save anything again. Back to square one. Are there any other options we should be exploring? Also, her employer does not offer health insurance and my main full time jobs plan still costs more than what the health insurance we have now does. It seems so wrong that in the United States, our working harder is being punished.
