I was re-reading Thomas J. Stanley's 'The Millionaire Next Door' for some motivation and, as reported, the favorite place for the millionaires interviewed to shop was J.C. Penney, due to the quality-to-cost. However, the leadership (and, I think, value) of J.C.P. has changed many times over the last 20-25 years.
That got me wondering, what would today's equivalent be? Who offers the best balance of quality, fit and cost? What about regular price vs. sales? Or are there particular brands you look/shop for?
I typically stick to TJ Maxx but, because I'm hard to fit, it can be very hit or (mostly) miss. So if I'm in need of an item, I'm usually out-of-luck...
