Bathroom refresh https://ift.tt/2Go55Q2 all, long time lurker of this sub, first time posting. Bought a small 1940's bungalow that has been updated a bit over the years (bathroom has seen the best quality of work...). I'd like to update it and am looking for ideas on making it just a little more functional.So. I'm looking to keep the toilet and tub where they are. I'm looking for ideas for the sink/vanity side.A few notes. The columns will go. This will allow the window dressing on the right to be exposed again. Currently there is a heat lamp/fan combo on different switches that vents directly to the attic (So we don't use it -attic has no mould, thank goodness). Will be replacing that fan and vent it directly outside. We are currently using the vanity box (the previous lady homeowner sat on it to do her makeup) for towels. We have no other storage for linens. We currently have those under our bed.We need one sink (likely a bit larger square sink with rounded edges), with some counterspace and some storage. So. I think the trouble is right now that given where the window and light switches are, we can't build up for storage along the sides. That unless. And this is one thought that I do have. Shift sink left (wherever fits best) and build a cabinet over the light switches with open shelves up top for towels and cutout area for lightswitches). The header stays. Need to keep the recessed lighting and space above. My concern about moving sink is that it can either be centred which puts it in front of the shower wall (allows for shared access, but tricky to move around each other), or in front of the toilet, though that would force us into the corner (and the wall becomes a pinch point again). This is why I'm coming to you r/DIY for help. Any and all ideas welcome!! It's tricky to work out in my mind. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2HZKIWm
