I don’t have dental insurance but I made the effort to go to the dentist and get a checkup. They did a few X-rays and told me I have two small cavities. They’re charging me $250 per composite filling.
Since many people have dental insurance and I don’t, I’m wondering if it’s out of the ordinary to shop around. Can I ask for my dental records and call up a few dentists to see what they would charge? Or do dentists charge you a fee to have a copy of your own records? If I know specifically what I need done, I think it should be possible to call other locations for quotes right?
