I live in SC, but Work in NC. Did taxes and was told I was getting a large refund ($2800)from NC... and I owed $2300 to SC. Figuring it would balance out, I paid SC right away. After a couple weeks, NC refund came in -$2300 less than what I expected, they said it had been “adjusted”. So I obviously f’d up. No way I owe over $5K to both states combined right? I figure I need to file amended return. When is the best time to do this? I have a strong feeling I wayyy overpaid to SC. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
