What is the best time to seed your initial retirement Investments? seemingly, it would be when the market is on a slightly down day or few days. I wouldn't think you would want to seed your retirement fund with the initial 20 to $40,000 when the market is very high.

For example: let's say someone is self-employed and we'll be doing a solo 401k. They want to invest their first $18,000 in a 2055 Target retirement mutual fund. Would they want to make that first investment when the market is significantly down?
